In Costa Rica, people say pura vida to say hello, goodbye, and everything in between. It means pure life, and it's shorthand for taking things easy.
We built the room to match. Downstairs, a long bar glows under neon arches and palm trees stand in front of tall arched windows. Upstairs, a lounge looks out over it all, with room for study groups, meetings and friends.

The spaces
Main floor
The neon-arch bar, high-top tables and an open floor under the palms. We've set it up for yoga and barre classes, DJ nights and pop-ups.
Upstairs lounge
Overlooks the bar, with lounge seating, a big group table and plenty of outlets. Good for meetings, study groups and smaller gatherings.
Whole venue
Both floors, for bigger nights. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll see what works.

Bringing a little of Costa Rica to Baton Rouge.
The idea behind Pura Vida Coffee Bar came about due to founder Jordan's upbringing in Costa Rica and the common goal of Jordan and Victoria to infuse the beauty of Costa Rica into Baton Rouge.
Pura Vida Coffee Bar is not your average coffee bar; Pura Vida was designed to be much more than that – a place where you can take a break from the daily routine, get inspired by the surroundings, and have an awesome coffee while enjoying good food and good company.
Every aspect of Pura Vida Coffee Bar is designed to reflect its vision – bringing a little of Costa Rica to Baton Rouge.

This policy explains what information Pura Vida Coffee Bar ("we", "us") collects through this website, and what we do with it.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms:
- Event requests: your name, email, and details about your event (type, date, times, guest count and description). Phone number and organization are optional.
- Contact messages: your name, email and message.
We don't take payments on this website, and we don't collect anything automatically for analytics or advertising.
How we use it
To reply to you, to review and plan your event, and to keep a record of confirmed bookings. We won't add you to a mailing list or send marketing unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Form messages reach us through FormSubmit, a form-forwarding service that delivers them to our email on our behalf. If your device can't reach it, the form opens your own email app instead. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
If you order through the Pura Vida Coffee Bar app, your order is handled by our ordering provider, Dripos, under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
How long we keep it
We keep requests and messages only as long as we need them to respond and plan. Records of confirmed bookings are kept as long as we need them for accounting and legal purposes.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address. See our cookie policy and Google's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Children
This website isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Event requests
Sending an event request doesn't reserve a space. An event is booked only once we confirm it with you in writing. Our event booking policy applies to all events.
Alcohol
You must be 21 or older with a valid ID to be served alcohol. We may refuse service at our discretion, in line with Louisiana law.
Photos and content
The photos, text and design on this site belong to Pura Vida Coffee Bar or are used with permission. Please don't copy or reuse them without our written permission.

Third-party services
Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. When you send a form, it goes to FormSubmit, which forwards it to us. Links to Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook and the App Store only load those services if you click them.

Event booking policy

Requests
Send us your event details through the event request form. We'll reply by email with availability, pricing and any deposit or minimum spend.
Confirmation
Your event is booked only once we confirm it in writing and any requested deposit has been paid.
Deposits, cancellations and refunds
The deposit amount, cancellation deadlines and refund terms for your event will be set out in your written confirmation, so you'll know them before you commit. If we have to cancel your booking, we'll refund any deposit you've paid in full.
Changes
Changes to your date, time or guest count depend on availability. Let us know as early as you can.
On the day
- Outside food, decorations, AV equipment and vendors need our approval in advance.
- The event organizer is responsible for their guests' conduct and for any damage beyond normal wear.
- Guests must be 21 or older with a valid ID to be served alcohol. Please don't bring outside alcohol.
